On Friday, June 5th at 2:52 PM, a Dodge Ram towing a 32-foot toy hauler was traveling in the left lane of northbound I-15. Traffic was heavy at the time, and preliminary indicators suggest the truck was traveling too fast for both the road conditions and the size of the vehicle combination. As traffic slowed ahead, the Ram rear-ended a white Hyundai and a black Volkswagen. The impact pushed both cars into surrounding traffic, resulting in a chain-reaction crash that involved a total of nine vehicles.
Several individuals were transported by ambulance to area hospitals with minor injuries, while a 15-year-old passenger in the white Hyundai was hospitalized with serious injuries.
