On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 11:44 am, a gray Ford Focus was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes on northbound I-15, just north of the 377 structure. A white Toyota 4Runner was northbound and struck the Ford Focus head-on. Both vehicles went into the median up against the cable barrier. The 4 Runner rolled onto its side. A witness thought he may have seen the Ford Focus make a U-turn to go southbound from the northbound on-ramp immediately before collision. The 77-year-old female driver of the Ford Focus sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The female driver of the 4Runner was transported to a local hospital then flown with critical, but non-life threatening injuries. Northbound lanes of I-15 were closed for approximately two hours and reopened at about 2:00 pm. Traffic was diverted off the 377 exit. The investigation is ongoing as to why she made a U-turn in this situation.
