On September 15, 2024, at 8:14 PM, a traffic collision involving four vehicles occurred in the area of 12500 South I-15 northbound. At the time of the incident, it was raining heavily, and the roadway was wet.
Traveling too fast for the conditions, a Range Rover lost control and began to spin where it T-boned a Ford Mustang that pushed it into the left concrete barrier. The Range Rover came to a rest facing wrong way in the HOV lane. Shortly thereafter, a Sprinter Van was unable to avoid a collision with the Range Rover and struck it head-on. A short time later, a motorcyclist dumped his bike to avoid a collision with the vehicles involved.
A 16-month-old boy, a six-year-old boy and their mother were transported by ambulance to the hospital. The 16-month-old is in critical condition. Everyone else in the accident had non-life treating injuries, including the motorcyclist.
