WCF Insurance to offer Uber vouchers to ensure everyone gets home safely this holiday season

The Utah Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Highway Safety Office (UHSO), in partnership with the state’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS) and WCF Insurance, urges drivers to add a sober ride home to their winter holiday plans. Media are invited to interview state officials from The Departments of Public Safety, Alcoholic Beverage Services, and representatives from WCF Insurance about their support of sober driving and efforts to help drivers avoid getting a DUI this season. Messaging to the media includes:
WCF Insurance is sponsoring a $10 Uber ride credit voucher program during the holidays.
Utah Highway Patrol will discuss upcoming statewide enforcement efforts, DUI statistics, and crash data.
DPS’s campaign objective is to encourage individuals to plan ahead and arrange sober rides with multiple ways to get home, not to increase arrests.
In support of NHTSA’s National Winter Holiday DUI Enforcement Mobilization, 30 law enforcement agencies statewide will work over 240 additional DUI shifts from December 13th to January 1st.
