On June 5, 2025, at approximately 1300 hours, a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling southbound on Highway 89 milepost 293 while a semi was traveling northbound in the same area. It is suspected that the driver of the Tahoe suffered a medical emergency while driving, crossed the center line, and crashed head on into the semi traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the Tahoe, 68 year old male, suffered fatal injuries on scene. The driver of the semi, 62 year old male, suffered minor injuries.
