On May 27, 2025 at approximately 1640 hours, a blue Kia was traveling North on I-15 near milepost 250 in Payson. For an unknown reason, the Kia went from the far right lane, across 3 lanes of traffic and through the median. In the median it went through the cable barrier, sheering it off. As the vehicle traveled over the cable barrier it became airborne and struck a green Jeep Gladiator that was traveling South on I-15 head on, killing both drivers immediately. There were no other passengers in either vehicle. Two other vehicles struck the debris and cable barrier doing damage, no injuries were reported in those vehicles.
