On Saturday June 7, 2025 at about 10:00 PM troopers received reports of a motorcycle crash on SR-39 at mile marker 53 near Monte Cristo. Witnesses stated the motorcycle had struck a cow in the roadway (which is an open range area). When first responders arrived they began life saving measures but the rider was unable to be revived and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
