On August 27, 2024 – A head-on collision occurred on the eastbound I-80 on-ramp to westbound I-80 at mile post 99, resulting in one fatality and critical injury to another driver.
At approximately 3:57 p.m., a maroon Ford Explorer crossed the center line and collided head-on with a green Ford F150. The driver of the Ford Explorer, a 69-year-old female, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The driver of the Ford F150, a 61-year-old male, was airlifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
