On Monday, Sept. 30, 2024, at approximately 2:50 pm, a white box truck was traveling eastbound on SR-14 near milepost 37. The driver stated that he swerved to miss a deer in the roadway. The box truck left the roadway to the right and overturned, coming to rest on its top. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. The 39-year-old male passenger suffered fatal injury and was declared dead at the scene.
