On Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 2:40 am, dispatch received an I phone crash alert notification in the area of MM 30 on SR 36. A white Silverado had crashed and rolled on the left shoulder coming to rest on all four tires. Both the driver a 18 year old male and the passenger a 16 year old male were not wearing seat belts and were ejected. The 16 year old received fatal injuries and was deceased. The 18 year old driver was arrested for suspicion of DUI and transported by ground to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. Speed, seatbelts and alcohol are all possible contributing factors. Lane closure: Both lanes were closed for the investigation.
