US 6 Fatal Crash

On Sunday May 10th, 2026, at approximately 10:15 PM a motorcycle, was stopped in the lane of travel on SR-6 MP 145 with mechanical issues. The owner/driver, 46 year old male, was working on the motorcycle in a dark area that was not lit, the passenger was standing in the dirt on the shoulder and suffered no injuries. A Vehicle traveling West on SR-6 did not see the motorcycle and struck the rear of the motorcycle and the subject working on it. Both motorcycle and rider were thrown off the right shoulder. The motorcycle driver suffered fatal injuries on scene. After striking the motorcycle the second vehicle rolled off the right shoulder as well. The two occupants inside the vehicle suffered only minor injuries.
