What:
The Utah Fentanyl Task Force will hold its inaugural meeting to address the growing fentanyl crisis in Utah. The task force is a governor-led initiative to combat the increasing threat of fentanyl to the State of Utah. This coalition brings together political leaders, law enforcement, healthcare professionals, and community advocates dedicated to combating fentanyl trafficking, reducing addiction, and saving lives. This first session will focus on outlining key objectives, assessing current challenges, and identifying immediate priorities for action.

Why:
The fentanyl crisis in Utah has reached unprecedented levels. In 2024 alone, authorities have seized over 714,000 fentanyl pills – a staggering increase from previous years. The task force is committed to proactive measures to dismantle trafficking networks, improve prevention and treatment resources, and address root causes of addiction and abuse in Utah communities.
