On October 15th, a white Chevy Impala was traveling wrong way on I-80 at milepost 161, going westbound in the eastbound lanes. The Impala collided head-on with a Ford Transit van that was traveling eastbound. The driver of the Impala was pronounced dead on scene, while the driver of the Transit van sustained an injury to his leg and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Age and/or medical condition are being investigated as possible contributing factors.
